Remote users are securely tunneled to the LightEdge network,
then switched to a LightEdge-provisioned, dedicated connection
to your corporate network. Users can access the service from
one of more than 700 dial-up points-of-presence via toll-free
numbers, or through high-speed cable or xDSL connections.
Network security is maintained by user authentication and
connection via a private tunnel. Administrators have easy
access to Web-based management tools to add, delete or edit
user accounts and view usage reports.
Flexible Options
Secure Dial-up Access
Secure dial-up access provides narrowband access to your
corporate network, offering local dial-up points of presence
in over 700 locations throughout the 50 states, plus toll-free
access from anywhere in the country. End users are securely
connected via Layer 2 tunneling protocol (L2TP), providing
an alternative to latency-prone, bandwidth-intensive VPN
sessions. A connection is established by using a standard
PPP client to connect over the Public Switched Telephone
Network (PSTN) to a LightEdge authentication gateway. Services
are billed monthly, based on minutes used.
Broadband Access Solutions
For home-based users with Internet access via a Cable modem
or xDSL connection, our remote access solution utilizes
point-to-point tunneling protocol (PPTP) to create a secure,
encrypted high-speed tunnel to your corporate network.
End users simply enter their account information and connect
to the corporate network with a specified IP address or
host name. Services are billed monthly, on a flat-rate-per-user
basis
