• Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)
  Exchange information is compressed and encrypted with a 256 bit (AES) encryption by the BlackBerry Enterprise Server prior to being passed through the firewall to the BlackBerry NOC servers for transmission to the device. The data is directed to the intended recipient through use of a unique 8 character hexadecimal identification. Once the information reaches the intended party it is decrypted by the device.
  
  
• Corporate Security Controls
  The BlackBerry Enterprise Service allows greater corporate controls on the security and functionality related to information on BlackBerry devices. As a company, you are able to adopt one of six default levels of BlackBerry Mobile security based on the needs of your company: Default, Basic, Moderate, Moderate+, Advanced and Advanced+.

• Push Technology
  All data requests are outbound, initiated from the secure BlackBerry Enterprise Server in real-time. Requests are never made from the device itself.
  
  
• Administration
  As a business device, the BlackBerry® Mobility Data Service has the ability to require passwords and lockouts after specified idle period. If lost the device can be remotely locked or completely wiped by LightEdge staff.
