Converged Access Trunk VoIP

Converting to a Converged Access Trunk is a simple and transparent way to get more out of an existing phone system and transition toward a full Hosted PBX VoIP system without up-front capital expenses or disruption to your present call flow.

As its name suggests, a converged access trunk is created by combining voice traffic with the company's data network across a single high-speed data connection to the LightEdge Gateway. The entire phone system, including the PBX box, remains intact. An Integrated Access Device (IAD) router is installed on premises to enable multiple analog or digital (PRI/CAS) trunks to be delivered to the PBX. Because the convergence point is after the PBX, employees will not experience any changes to the system and no retraining will be necessary.

Converged Access enables a business to reduce or eliminate lines from the local phone company and eliminate long-distance charges between affiliated branch offices that are also "on-net". Traditional long distance calling is initiated through the LightEdge Gateway to the appropriate PSTN at competitive rates due to LightEdge's combined buying power.
