How do I transfer files to my website space?
All our web servers can be accessed using an ftp client program. Many web editing programs currently on the market have ftp clients built-in, but you can also use a dedicated ftp client like WS_FTP.

I just uploaded my site, but I can only see the "Under Construction" page that was there before. Where is my website?
When our web servers display your website, ".php" and ".asp" files take precedence over ".html" and ".htm" files, and ".html" files take precedence over ".htm" files. Because of this, if the main page of your site is "index.html" and there is another file in the html directory called "index.php", your main page will not be displayed because the ".php" file will be displayed first. To avoid this problem, remove any php, asp, or html files from your web space before uploading your site for the first time. You may also want to double-check your website's files to make sure there are no files where the filename ahead of the file extension are the same (like "index.html" and "index.htm").

What kind of scripting options do you support?
Our servers support PHP, PERL, ASP, Cold Fusion, Javascript, and scripting done through FrontPage extensions. Some scripting languages are only supported on particular servers: PHP and PERL are only available on our Linux servers, ASP and FrontPage extensions are only available on our Windows servers, and Cold Fusion only on our Cold Fusion servers.

I want to have a feedback form on my website that sends me the results via e-mail. How do I do that?
We have a PHP script available for you to use for this purpose, though because it is written in PHP you will only be able to use it if your site is hosted on one of our Linux servers. If your site is on one of our Windows servers, you will need to use some form of scripting in ASP or make use of an appropriate FrontPage extension.

I just uploaded a new CGI script, but it doesn't work. Why?
For security reasons, all CGI scripts must be approved and activated by our Network Administration staff. If you have just uploaded a script and need it reviewed for activation, send an e-mail to support@netexpress.net containing your website's address and the full path to the script in question. An administrator will then review the script and notify you of its activation or any reasons we will not activate it. Due to security concerns, Internet Express runs all PERL scripts setuid. It usually takes approximately two business days for script evaluation.

I have uploaded a script that needs special file permissions but I can't change the permissions (CHMOD) myself. Why?
For security reasons, all file permission changes must be approved and implemented by our Network Administration staff. If you have a script in place that requires special permissions, send an e-mail to support@netexpress.net containing your website's address and the full path to the script in question, as well as what files and/or folders need what permissions set. An administrator will then review the script and notify you of the implementation of your request or any reasons we will not do so. It usually takes approximately two business days for script evaluation.

Why isn't my ASP script working?
Your site must be hosted on one of our Windows servers in order to make use of ASP. If you are currently hosted on a Linux server and would like your site moved so you can make use of ASP, contact Dale Curless via e-mail (dalec@netexpress.net) or phone (309-736-8000 or 888-620-7873).

Your information says you support FrontPage extensions. Why aren't they working on my site?
Only our Windows servers support FrontPage extensions. If your site is currently hosted on one of our Linux servers and you would like your site moved so you can take advantage of FrontPage extensions, contact Dale Curless via e-mail (dalec@netexpress.net) or phone (309-736-8000 or 888-620-7873).

How do I know what kind of server my website is hosted on?
Consult your virtual hosting packet, e-mail our support staff, or call our support staff at 309-736-8000 or 888-620-7873.
