We have some exciting news to share here at LightEdge that will allow us to further expand on our commitment to innovation and delivering world-class colocation, cloud and managed services to our customers.

Over the past few years, LightEdge has emerged as an industry leading provider for colocation, cloud and managed services in the Midwest and Texas. Our organization has built a proven model for delivering excellent service to enterprise customers in an increasingly complex hybrid-cloud world and is considered a unique platform company for continued growth. As a result, LightEdge has received significant interest from the investment community. Today, I am thrilled to announce that we came to an agreement to be acquired by GI Partners on Thursday, September 9th.

Who is GI Partners?

GI Partners is a leading US-based private equity and real estate fund manager. GI Partners has been an early investor in data centers since its creation of Digital Realty  in 2004 through the consolidation of their portfolio of 21 stand-alone data center assets. Since their launch they have invested extensively in infrastructure companies and properties underpinning the digital economy. GI Partners is acquiring LightEdge through its GI Data Infrastructure Fund which was launched last year and manages $1.8 billion of capital commitments.

After years of extensive research, GI Partners selected LightEdge Solutions to be the platform data center and private cloud service provider for their investments, in which LightEdge will receive a major influx of strategic capital to expand our geography and increase future innovation.

I have been the CEO of LightEdge for over 16 years and will remain so for many more to come. I care deeply about our customers, our employees and our community and I cannot express my excitement enough about the future of LightEdge as we head into this new chapter with GI Partners – a world-class technology and infrastructure investor.

I also want to assure current and future customers that you will see no changes as a result of this transition. LightEdge will maintain the rigorous operating procedures, high security and compliance standards, and best-in-class service & support that have made us a leader in this field. There will be no changes to our senior management team, the entire operating company, and more importantly, to the sales and support teams that service our customers each and every day.

The LightEdge team and I are as committed as ever to providing our customers with the best experience possible and we will always continue to provide the reliability, security, and innovation that have gotten us to where we are today.
