Network Engineer achieves CCIE Routing & Switching status

CCIEOne of our Network Engineers, John Cavanaugh, has successfully achieved the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Routing and Switching status! The CCIE program is one of the most prestigious and difficult-to-obtain networking certifications in the industry. The CCIE Routing and Switching status certifies the skills required of expert-level network engineers to plan, operate and troubleshoot complex, converged network and infrastructure.
John’s journey of hard work and countless hours of study started more than 18 months ago and culminated Monday in an eight-hour lab exam at Cisco’s own facilities in North Carolina.  John joins a select group of people who completed this exam on their first attempt – an estimated 90% fail their first try, and it’s not uncommon for highly experienced engineers to take the exam three, four or more times! John has been with LightEdge’s Engineering team since September, 2011.
LightEdge congratulates John on his achievements and contributions to the Cisco community and LightEdge. His expertise in routing and switching is appreciated by the entire company, as well as customers who benefit from his depth of knowledge.
