Training and Development Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The Training & Development Specialist will report to the HR Director and be the main point of coordinate and planning for training at the company. They will be responsible for working with Sr. Managers, Department Managers and individual team members to develop skills necessary to succeed and accomplish goals across the company. This position will work closely with all departments from sales to engineering. The individual must be able to work independently, as well as determine development needs to help move the team and the company forward.

RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and Coordinate all new hire onboarding
  • Conduct portions of new hire onboarding, as necessary
  • Implement, Manage and Enhance use of Learning Management System
  • Coordinate and assist in the development of training materials
  • Source external training, as needed, as well as coordinate internal training with appropriate resources
  • Develop learning plans to assist in consistency and deployment of training
  • Guide the development of career ladders across departments
  • Provide guidance and resources for creation of individual development plans
  • Track certifications for partner programs and coordinate / monitor progress toward achievement of new certifications
  • Other duties as assigned

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College Graduate
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles
  • Provide guidance and resources for creation of individual development plans
  • Excellent writing & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think independently, problem solve and recommend course of action
  • Willingness to pitch in and help as needed above and beyond base responsibilities
